Nine Scenery-view Stations on the Way
The 1972km long Qinghai-Tibet railway from Xining to Lhasa has 45 stations and each station has its own spectacular scenery. Nine viewing platforms have been built at 9 stations so that passengers can admire the unique and beautiful scenery on the journey to Lhasa. The nine stations are Yuzhu Peak Station, Chumaer River, Tuotuo River, Buqiangge, Tanggula Mountain, Lake Namtso, Nagqu, Damshung and Yambajan.
Each platform is about 500 meters long and 1.25 meters high so passengers can enjoy the scenery and take photos. The time table has been scheduled so that trains provide the best opportunity for passengers to make use of the viewing platforms during daytime.
Yuzhu Peak Station
Yuzhu Peak Station is the first station on your journey at 4159 meters above sea level. Passengers get a good view of Yuzhu Peak in the Kunlun Mountains in the east and KeKexili’s scenery in the west. Kunlun Mountains is the biggest mountain system in China and Yuzhu Peak is one of the highest peaks .The snow-capped peak towers against the blue sky and is exceptionally beautiful.
Chuma'er River Station
Chuma’er River Station is located at an important point on the route of the Tibet antelope’s migration path. The northern source of the Yangtze River, the Chuma'er River and the river built for the migration of the animal, and the Hu’erma River Bridge can be seen from this station. The bridge is 2,565 meters long and has 78 arches for the Tibet antelope to pass through. Flocks of pregnant antelopes trek from the eastern part of the Kunlun Mountains through this area and head further west to the hinterland of Kekexili to give birth to their offspring during June, July and August.
Travelers can even see the Qingshuihe River Bridge and the Wubei Bridge when looking further west. They both have similar arches for animals. Qingshuihe Bridge, the longest railway bridge in the world, is 11.7 kilometers long.

TuoTuo River Station
Tuotuo River is the head waters for China’s longest river- the Yangtze River. The Yangtze originates from this broad, mild highland river and surges all the way to the China Sea at Shanghai. From the Tuotuo River scenery viewing platform, travelers can glimpse the glittering wide river.

The feature of this area is vast pasture, prairie and the snow-capped mountains. The views are spectacular.

Tanggula Station - the highest station in the word
Tanggula Station is the highest train station in the world and Tangula Pass is the highest point along this railway system. Geladandong Peak, is the highest peak in the Tangula Mountain Range and can be seen rising high against the blue sky. Tangula Mountain has been regarded as a place closest to the heavens and a dangerous place for mountaineers for centuries. The trains will pass through thewithout the passengers noticing any change.

Conag Lake Station
Conag Lake is a holy lake that is respected by the local people. The alpine lake is 400 square kilometers in area and just like a glittering blue pearl in the huge grassland. It reflects the blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. The fish in the lake has drawn many species of birds including dark-necked crane, swans, wild duck and mandarin duck to inhabit then area.

Nagqu Station is a great spot to view the boundless and fertile Changtang prairie. On this huge highland features blue sky, fluffy white clouds, crystal clear lakes, flocks of sheep, yak, vast green grasslands and snow-capped mountains. Nagqu Prefecture has and altitude of over 4000 meters and is called the “Roof of the Roof”. The annual Horse-racing festival of Nagqu area is held on this grassland in August. At this time tourists will be lucky to experience the Tibetan customs and culture.

The amazing grasslands stretch all the way from Nagqu to Damxung. The area around the station is dotted with grazing sheep and yaks. A special feature is the mystical Eight Pagodas in Northern Tibetan Pasture.

Yangbajan is not only a good place to enjoy the suburb scenery, but also
a wonderful place to experience a hot spring bath and wash away the fatigue the trip. Yangbajan has a total area is over 7000 square meters and has the highest hot springs and geysers in China.
