China Eastern Airlines Open Route to Lhasa

China's civil aviation regulatory authority has given the go ahead for Shanghai based China Eastern Airlines to commence a daily service from Shanghai to Lhasa via Xian. The service is expected to commence on June 28.

The service is expected to begin with the following schedule.

Shanghai-Xian-Lhasa-Flight departs 8:20am from Shanghai's Pudong International Airport  arriving Xian about two hours later at 10:30 am. The connecting flight to Lhasa will leave Xian at 12:30 and reach Lhasa at 15:30 pm.

Lhasa-Xian-Shanghai -Flight departs at 16:00 pm from Lhasa Gongga Airport arriving Xian at 18:20, then heading for Shanghai about 2 hours later at 20:10 pm and arriving in Shanghai at 22:15 pm.

China Eastern will operate Airbus A319 aircraft on the route.   

The opening of the new air route will provide more choices and convenience for travelers who want to explore the distant and mystical highland of Tibet.
